  • Extension configuration data (stored locally or synced through Apple’s secure infrastructure)

Select & Search uses the minimal information it accesses solely to provide its core functionality:
Text Processing: When you select text on a webpage and use our search feature, the selected text is processed locally to generate search URLs. This text is never stored, logged, or transmitted to our servers.
Settings Storage: Your search engine preferences, custom search engines, and extension settings are stored either locally on your device or synchronized through Apple’s secure Safari sync system (if you choose to enable sync). We do not have access to this data.
Search Functionality: When you perform a search, you are directed to third-party search engines (Google, Bing, YouTube, etc.). These interactions are governed by the respective privacy policies of those services, not ours.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties. Select & Search operates as a client-side application that facilitates your direct interaction with search engines of your choice.
When you use our extension to search, you are directly connecting to third-party search services. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of search engines you use, as your interactions with them are subject to their terms and privacy practices.

Data Security

Since we don’t collect or store personal data on our servers, there’s no risk of data breaches from our end. All extension data remains on your device or within Apple’s secure ecosystem if you enable Safari sync.
Your search queries and selected text are processed in real-time and are not retained by our extension after the search is completed.

Your Rights and Controls

You have complete control over the extension’s functionality:

  • Enable or disable the extension at any time through Safari preferences
  • Customize which search engines appear in your context menu
  • Choose whether to sync settings across devices
  • Uninstall the extension to remove all associated data
